As much as I love furbies, I don't have any hope left for them.
First, the furby had an unusually long lifespan. Most toys are made for around 5 years (give or take). Furby? Furby was produced for about 20 years! So first off, the whole Furby franchise was really unstable. And a new toy in 2016 has a high chance of being the culprit....

Remember when the furby connect was discontinued? What toy was blowing up in popularity at the time? The new versions of hatchimals.

Hatchimals are probably the next furby, and we should probably accept that. Furby wasn't selling well when Hatchimals came onto the scene. And, like Furby did, Hatchimals are being upgraded. Now there's little plastic minifigures, the original hatchimals, and this "hatchiwow" thing everyone's talking about.

However, Hatchimal might be dying soon too. Remember the
Furby Boom? Well, the Hatchiwow has stability problems, though not nearly as bad as the furby boom.

Hatchimals might exist for say, another 20 years before a new furry robot takes the throne again. Furby still has a chance, though.

Furby was "discontinued" in 2007, but what happened in 2012? Oh, hello, furby! You're back! So furby
might come back. Especially now that hatchimals are dying in popularity now too and more people are mourning the furby, I think furby has around a 75% chance of coming back.
