Yes in many cases people spend more on fake ones than real ones because they are harder to find 😊

It is true that TOMY has sold fake robot-type Furbys in other countries, not in Japan, but as far as I know, TOMY has never released fake Furbys in Japan, even now, more than 25 years after Furby was released in Japan. There are original Furby goods made by TOMY, such as a palm-size Furby.

By the way, although people may have different opinions, fake Furbys are just as cute as Furbys, and are very popular in the Furby community.

The problem within the Furby community is that any toy with bird like features tends to be labelled a Furby fake. This is due to it being fun and exciting when a new fake is found.

I expect that Tomy have created many bird like toys, which have been incorrectly branded as fakes.

Some of the "fakes" do contain parts from Furbys, this still doesn't necessarily make them a "fake".... If that were the case, Furbys themselves would be considered fakes of Takara's Rock'N Flowers, as they share some of the same components and many other interactive toys that came before Furbys.

Many of the "fakes" on the "Furby Fakes" page shouldn't be on there as they could possibly cause problems for the companies making them.

(A simple renaming of the page to something like "Fakes and Furby-like toys" could solve this issue.)

However some are so obviously fakes!

Airi122009 Thanks for clearing up this concern for me! I was also surprised by just how many people here enjoy fake Furbys just as much as the ordinary Furby. However, despite them not being within my range of interest, I do still appreciate their cuteness😊
