On March 12 of 1999, Furby's second generation of colors made its debut at FAO Schwarz, and a retirement party was also held for the previous line of colors.

A webcast was also shown on earthcamforkids of the event, and although the videos can't be viewed anymore due to their file type, it's unknown if the webcasts were saved elsewhere.
Chris Byrne, David Niggli, and Roger Shiffman had made an appearance at the event to comment on the retirement of the original Furby and the new fur patterns for Furby in 1999, while Marc Rosenberg had also made an appearance to help promote the toy to kids that showed up at the event.

- The second generation of colors, as well as prototypes for the upcoming Furby Babies, were showcased at the 1999 New York Toy Fair a month prior to this event.
