On August 28th, 1999, approximately 400 fans were gathered in Harajuku, Japan by invitation only, for a Furby event. There were various exhibitions and activities. Limited edition Furbys wearing traditional Japanese clothing were sold at the store as Japan exclusives, which say "Furby Summit" (ファービーサミット) on their boxes. Some non-Japanese Furbys were also sold in the store.
