On Thursday, April 12th, Shelby was released at FAO Schwarz and had a beach party themed event to celebrate. Some special guests had attended the event such as Dave Hampton - Inventor of Furby - and Frankie Avalon - an american actor, singer, and former teen idol. Frankie had played in numerous beach themed movies during the 60s, that being the reasoning for his attendance at this beach party themed event. Also present at the event were champion beach volleyball players, sand sculptures, walkarounds of both Furby and Shelby, food vendors, and even a Caribbean steel drum band playing music during the event.
