Electric Momoby, also known as Fairy is a 1998 Furby Buddy fake, though, it is in some ways also copying the original/standard 1998 Furby.

Appearance[]

Fairy is known to come in three different colors including white and pink. Fairy can also come in grey with a white belly. Fairys only have blue eyes, but the style of the eyes may differ. When they were manufactured, a purple cardboard tag which looks exactly like the one you'd find on an old 1998 furby was attached, and on top of the picture of a Furby, it would say "Fairy".

Function[]

Fairy only has one function. When you press Fairy's tummy, it sings a small audio clip of a cover of the Spice Girls' Wannabe.[1] Below is the original version of the audio and the recreation.

Trivia[]

  • The poem on Momoby's box names Coobie in place of Furby.
    • This is variously misspelled as Cooble, Coolbie, or Coolie.
  • Supposedly, it can 'communicate with other Coobie'.
    • This is because the text on the box is stolen from a real Furby's box, but with references to Furby being changed to Coobie.
  • Similar looking Furby fakes for Fairy exist, and are known to come in different color schemes, have slightly modified appearances and features such as a keychain or suction cup attached, such as Hair Baby.
  • According to the registration data for the barcode, the company responsible for distribution of this fake is called Compass Manufacturing International: [1]
