Furby 2005 Manual

 Furby won't turn on[]

  • Turn the Furby completely off. Hold its tongue and turn him upside down. Turn the Furby back on.
  • Inspect the battery tray lid for any corrosion or oxidation. If present, remove it by scraping it off using a screwdriver.
  • Advanced: For a jammed motor, the only fix is to disassemble the Furby and manually move the gears. This isn’t an easy task—on top of the complexity, the plastic parts are fragile and often break during the process.

Furby has a grinding sound []

  • This noise is often caused by a cog that moves the feet, which should normally slide into place.
    • Try tapping the back of the Furby to see if you can engage the gear.
    • Advanced: If that doesn't work, open the Furby, clean the cog, and re-oil or grease the part located above the top of the leg.

Furby's eyes wont open []

  • If you are lucky then on the rare occasion, you can manually open them, but go careful of the eyelashes.
  • Advanced: Strip the Furby down and adjust the bar that controls the eyes.

Battery cover broke[]

  • You can purchase second hand ones and 3d printed ones off of eBay and Etsy
    • Be aware there is 2 or more variations of battery covers, so a new one may require slight modification to make it fit.
    • 3d models of the battery covers can also be purchased for printing it yourself with a 3d printer.
  • Advanced: Depending on the break, it is possible to bush the screw hole with a metal bush.

Furby's beak has a hole or cut []

  • Advanced: Replacement beaks can be bought on Etsy or Ebay but are expensive and require dissembling your Furby.
    • Furby Queen on youtube has a video on how to create your own silicone beak from silicone finger guards.

Furby rattles when shaken[]

  • 2005 Furbys are known for their brittle plastic, and something may have broken inside. If everything is still functioning properly, leave it be.
  • Advanced: Arm yourself with a gallon of super glue, strip your Furby down, locate the loose part, and glue it back in place, while inevitably breaking another piece of plastic. Repeat this process until you run out of glue.
    • Use a mix of super glue and baking soda/bicarbonate of soda in places where you need extra strength and support.

Design errors[]

Other known issues are known bugs, glitches, and design errors, and may not be able to be fixed.
