Baby Brainy is a 1998 Furby fake by JSNY and sold by Smart Planet. They are only known to have been sold in the United States.
Features[]
Baby Brainies are described to "speak their own language," "learn your language," sing, eat, sleep, laugh, and interact with other Baby Brainies. They can also "say hundreds of things" and "learn as they play."
Appearance[]
Baby Brainy's appearance usually resembles a bear with round, circular ears and a yellow, pointed beak like a bird. It has two floppy arms and legs that stick out, a bear nose on its beak, a set of white eyelids, and a flocked faceplate. All Baby Brainies are known to have gray eyes.
Baby Brainies were sold in brown, white, and pink.
Trivia[]
- Due to close similarities with the Interactive Gizmo toy appearance-wise, and because it was released the same year as Interactive Gizmo, it is possible that Baby Brainy might have been an Interactive Gizmo knockoff as well.
- Baby Brainy is also similar to Furbish, another Furby fake, but with a difference in fur exterior and a bear nose painted on its beak.
- Synchronization is a widespread issue among Baby Brainies. This is mostly due to Baby Brainies lacking a sync screw, so if you are trying to repair it, you will have to tighten and loosen two little screws near the pet sensor on the back until it finally gets synchronized again.
Rumors[]
- There are some that have tags and some that don’t. It is rumored that the ones that have tags are earlier and the ones that don’t are later models.
- It has been thought that the bumble bee version of Baby Brainy was a prototype, however, there have been other sightings of it appearing for sale on websites.

Bumble Bee Variant[]
An alternate version of Baby Brainy exists, but it is very different in appearance compared to a regular Baby Brainy. It also seems to be rarer compared to a regular Baby Brainy. The appearance of the box it came in and the manual it came with remain unknown. This variant's appearance resembles a bumble bee with shiny, gold wings and antennae made from golden pipe cleaners and yellow pompoms. It has a pointed beak, but without a bear nose on it. It also has a white stomach and two yellow feet. Because this version of Baby Brainy has no ears, it moves its wings up and down instead. This version completely copied the mould from an original Furby.[1]
