Furby (2023)

This is the fifth generation of Furby, and has been launched as the 25th anniversary Furby, in conjunction with Hasbro's first 100 years as a company. The 2023 Furby features brightly colored fur, over 600 phrases, light-up ears, and an off switch (triple tap the gem on their forehead). Unlike the Furby Connect, Furbacca the Wookiee Furby, Furby Boom and the Furby (2012), the 2023 Furby does not connect to Bluetooth. Unlike the Furby Connect, Furbacca the Wookiee Furby, Furby Boom and the Furby (2012), this Furby has no app. Unlike the Furby (2012), Furby Boom, Furbacca the Wookiee Furby, and the Furby Connect, its eyes are painted, and are not LCD screens. Unlike the other Furbys, this Furby does not have a moving beak or a tail.

Later, small Furbling-like versions of this generation were announced, called "Furblets".

Release[]

This model released on June 22 2023 on Amazon.com. Official release in retail stores was expected to be late July/August depending on region.

Hasbro released the 2023 Furby press release as well on June 22, 2023.

In-person marketing of the 2023 Furby was handled by MC2, which had a popup booth at VidCon in Anaheim California (June 21 - 24th), where people could play with the new Furby in person and enjoy a VR experience: https://www.mc-2.com/

Good Morning America TV Segment[]

The 2023 Furby was featured on Good Morning America July 15, 2023. Jay, "the Mortal Communications Director" from Furb World pitched the "Furby fan story" idea to Emmy Award winning reporter for ABC, Will Ganss on June 27th, who agreed to the booking and featured Furby fan Furby Factory Store's Siobhan Wright, in the segment.

Initially two 2023 Furby colors were released: Purple and Coral.

A few days after the release of Purple and Coral, a third Furby color was announced for preorder, Tie Dye which is a Smyths Toy Store Exclusive in Europe. It was originally only found on the French Smyths site under the name "Tie and Dye" but has now been released for pre-order on the UK and Republic of Ireland sites under the name Tie Dye.

At some time in 2024, two new colors were released: Aurora Furbealis and Cotton Candy.

Interacting with other Furbys[]

Furby 2023 can interact with other Furbys of its type. For the Furbys to interact, you press both Furbys' "heart gem" for 5 seconds until they say "Furdar Activated". You then select a leader by touching the head sensor of one of the Furbys. The "leader" will connect with the other Furby in order to start. When they say “loo-loo”, the leader tells the other Furby a joke which makes them laugh. When they say “wah-tee”, they harmonize together.

Voice Commands[]

Dance Party - This makes Furby dance and sing. There are about 11 songs in total: Hey, Furby, Bestie for Life, Party Time, Do the Furby, Pizza Rap, Drop that Beat, President of the Moon, Get oo-nye ears Ready, Let’s Dance, Let’s Go, and Foot-tapping time that it can sing. You can touch its head to change songs or touch its belly to hear the current selected song again.
Tell my Fortune - This command has two modes, Crystal Furball and Magic Furball. In the Crystal Furball mode you touch Furby's belly to get a random prediction for what will happen in your future. In the Magic Furball mode You ask your Furby a yes or no question and once you asked your question, shake your Furby to get an answer
Copycat - With this command, Furby will record what you say and repeat it back with an effect on it, such as it being high pitch, low pitch or with an echo. There are 6 effects for Copycat: chipmunk, robot, giant, space cadet, baby, and echo.
Let's Chill - Relax with your Furby by practicing breathing exercises and thinking positive thoughts. The three submodes are: Meditation, Affirmations, and Stretches.
Light Show - Furby's ears will light up and change colors. You change modes by touching Furby's head for different colors. There are 9 light shows: galactic, Cyber-Furb, Aurora Furbealis, beautiful dream, double rainbow, lightning storm, silent disco, campfire, and fireworks. You can also change the light effects by pressing Furby's belly

Secret Commands[]

Fun Fact - Furby will tell you a random fun fact. Sometimes teaches the user Furbish.

I Love You - Say this and Furby will respond affectionately.

Selfie - Furby will get into a random pose for a couple of seconds. You can also press the head to get it into a different pose.

Trivia[]

This Furby, unlike the Furby Connect, Furbacca, Furby Boom and Furby (2012) does not have any online connection or app.
On the front of the Furby's box, the logo and the Furby's graphic is embossed.
The box's backdrop when opened looks like the Furby's room, this can be used as a background for taking photos of the Furby.
To reboot the Furby completely, hold it upside down, and press its heart gem and tongue at the same time. After 5 seconds, you'll hear a beep and the Furby will act when you took it out of the box. (This will not lose all the fun stuff, and this is NOT a glitch.)
The Tiger Electronics logo is on the bottom of the box. This is the first time since Funky Furby that a Furby has had the Tiger logo on its packaging.
2023 Furbys in Poland are sold as 'Furby 2.0'
These Furbys can interact with each other and understand what they're saying regardless of what language they speak.
The voice actor of this model is Gavin Hammon, the same as the Furby Connect.
It is the first Furby since the 2006 Funky Furbys to have eyelashes and not have LCD eyes.
If you shake Furby, the color of its ears will definitely change. To change it, shake it again.
