This page is a list of confirmed Furby bugs, glitches, and design errors. Not to be confused with Manufacturing errors.
Instead of adding directly to this page, it is recommended that you post the glitch in the comments first. If there is video proof then it will be added instantly.
The issue of a Furby being unable to wake up properly is called MSA (Me Sleep Again). It is extremely common.
Me Sleep Again Glitch
Me Sleep Again example
1998 Furbys and Furby Babies are not capable of detecting when the batteries go low and will simply begin glitching at that point (producing garbled audio or getting stuck and humming). While it might appear disturbing, this is unlikely to result in any permanent damage, but continued operation in that state can stall the motor or corrupt the EEPROM memory and is not recommended. Other reasons for hearing erratic sounds from the Furby are given below.
Some Furbys with the RL factory code have glitched audio and freeze randomly: RL "Special-Edition" Glitch (despite the name it's been observed on non-special-edition Furbys too).

Furby speakers tend to break down over time, whether or not the Furby is in good condition.
Cannot speak and is mute.
Can speak but has a glitched voice. Can be caused by low batteries, Fluff and dirt on the circuit board, heavy impact (e.g. dropping) or water damage.
Can speak but voice is extremely distorted. Caused by the speaker on the verge of blowing out.

1998s can sometimes have unusually loud gears, either due to poor manufacturing quality (e.g. those from the JT factory) this is usually caused by a build up of dirt and dried oil/grease, although pivot and teeth wear can also contribute.

An odd name. In case the EEPROM memory has incorrect data written to it, an unexpected phrase (e.g. sneezing) might be used instead. It wouldn't be preceded by the word "Me", since that's only a part of actual Furby names.
Glitched Name Example
Glitched Name Snowball goes into Hide and Seek Mode
Cannot detect if the motor stalls [original research], possibly leading it or the driving transistors on the circuit board to overheat. The hardware already features all the sensors necessary for such detection, so the fact this wasn't implemented could be a design oversight.
This was a recognized issue by Hasbro that caused many Furbys to overheat and emit a burning smell.[1]
Startup Voltage Dip Glitch
A glitch found in some RL and GE model Furbys occurs when they are first powered on. During startup, the Furby moves its motor back and forth to find its home position. In the affected models, the voltage to the motor is always reduced at this stage, causing the motor to struggle. This can lead to the motor or gearbox jamming. Once the Furby finds its home position, the voltage to the motor returns to normal.
The cause of the reduced voltage during startup is unknown, and no known cures exist.
Turning the Furby upside down and tapping the base can help the motor get past this time of low voltage.

Unlike the Original Furby, Furby Babies don’t move when they say the glitched name.
Example of the Glitched Name
Sometimes their voice can become deep for no reason.

During Lightsaber Training at Knight Level (Lv. 3, where Lightsaber patterns are 7 moves), Patterns 13 and 14 are partially told incorrectly.
At Pattern 13, Yoda will say "Side Strike Left, Quick Block Left, Strike Up Right, Ready Position, Spin Block Left, Strike Up Right, Strike Down Right." Performing Strike Up Right (Move 6) and Strike Down Right (Move 7) will be considered incorrect, even though it's what Yoda said. The final two moves are actually Block Up Right (Move 6), followed by Side Strike Right (Move 7). Performing these in place of what Yoda instructed will allow you to successfully continue to the next Pattern.
Pattern 14 is just Pattern 13 mirrored horizontally, apply the same changes (but mirrored) to this pattern to get past the bugged instructions.
When telling a story, after saying "When sun up, me ay-tay" or hungry, the Furby will open its mouth for you to feed it, but will stop telling the story after you feed it.
2005 Furbys are known for their brittle plastic and a design flaw in their battery compartments, which traps fur inside and often causes the plastic to break.
The Furby can turn off without warning and refuse to wake up despite having new batteries. This is common and widespread, so no worries. To fix this, just soft reset the Furby.
2012 models, along with Furby Booms, use motors with brushes that can wear out over time. When this happens, the motor may lose electrical contact, resulting in the Furby powering on but being unable to move, sometimes producing clicking voice noises and shutting down quickly — often even before entering sleep mode. Similar symptoms can also be caused by low or depleted batteries, so testing with a fresh set of alkaline batteries is recommended before concluding that the motor is faulty.

The Furby might not move its beak while waking up and then after waking up, the Furby rapidly moves its beak, doing what it should have done while waking up.
The Furby may dance even when there is no sound being picked up.
The LCD eyes might not power on despite the Furby being turned on.

A Blue Waves Furby Boom with the issue
Due to a broken sensor, while they move, some Furby Booms can think they are randomly being shaken. The same can apply to some 2012 Furbys.
A Furby Boom with zinc carbon batteries might not function right. The same can apply to some 2012 Furbys. To fix this, replace batteries with alkaline batteries.
If the Furby asks you to shake it, squeeze it, turn it upside-down, or pull its tail, it might forget it asked you to do it and respond normally after you do what it asks.
Furby can go to sleep immediately without warning and forget to close its eyes first.
This can also happen if you wiggle its antenna for too long.
With low batteries, the Furby can wake up with the sleep mask on.
Furby can have a weird voice with low batteries, having a lot of static sounds.
Sometimes Furby's eyes glitch out — they may change color, and static sounds can be heard.
A dog wearing glasses might even appear in its eyes.
Furby can do this glitch on command using this code “ 13002100009f” on NRF Connect. It’s not recommended to use this code as it is known to brick[2] Furby Connect’s.

While the Furby is moving, if you quickly press the heart gem and then the beak, it will freeze for a few seconds. It will eventually fix itself, though.
Sometimes when powering off Furby by pressing its heart gem 3 times, the heart gem may stay on despite the Furby being off.
Pressing it again to wake it up fixes the issue. Additionally the glitch can be fixed by taking one of the batteries out and putting it back in.
