The Simpsons[]

In the episode 'Barting Over' released in 2003, during Spring-cleaning Marge told Homer to get rid of the Furbys as they had turned feral. The scene pans to Maggie in the garage, being surrounded by six 1998 Furbys, advancing in on her.[1]

Mitchells vs. the Machines[]

In the 2021 movie Mitchells vs. the Machines, the main characters run into a clan of 1998 Furbys; only to summon the Elder after the Furbys are attacked.[2]

Robot Chicken[]

A parody made by Robot Chicken about how Furbys (1998, 2012 and Boom) were treated poorly.

Yo soy Betty la fea[]

In the Colombian soap opera "Yo soy Betty la Fea", a Furby Buddy appears as a gift from Armando to make Betty fall in love with him.[3]

Vast Error[]

In the Homestuck fan webcomic Vast Error the character Jentha Briati collects and cares for furbys and other nursery toys.[4]

The Rosie O'Donnell Show[]

The Rosie O'Donnell show was a daytime talk show hosted by Rosie O'Donnell that ran between 1996 and 2002. During at least 1998 and 1999, Furbys would make occasional appearances on her program as props or decoration.

1998[]

December 9th, 1998: Rosie makes mention of it on her show, saying "It's the most annoying thing on God's green earth"

1999[]

1999 S3E133: A Black & White McDonald's Furby can be seen on her desk.

1999 Season 3 episode 142, 146, 151, 173, 189, 193: A green and pink McDonald's Furby can be seen on her desk.

1999 S3E174: Rosie has people guess what things are out of a smoking barrel blindfolded, and one of the things she hands a person is a Zebra Furby

1999 Season 3 episode 178, 182: A green McDonald's Furby can be seen on her desk.

1999 S3E179: Rosie gives each of "The Fourbys", a group of people in Rosie's chub club, their own Furby new in the box after a musical number. A purple McDonald's Furby is also present on her desk.

1999 S4E62: Furbys make an appearance all throughout the episode:

  • Rosie shows off a custom Furby the designers at Tiger Electronics gave to her
  • Everyone in the audience that day recieved a Furby, and Furbys were donated to Toys for Tots
  • Rosie gave the Leopard Furby she had on set with her to the teacher of the class that won Kellogg's sculpture contest
  • Ally Sheedy shows Rosie how to shut off a Furby using a Mint Baby Furby

According to Rosie within the episode, the Furby made of her likeness was to go up for auction on eBay, though to this day it is unknown who bought it or owns it.

2000[]

A Rosie Christmas: In a Kmart advertisement featuring Rosie during this special, a Furby box can be seen in her cart.

Electric Playground[]

In Episode 5 of Season 3, Tommy Tallarico is tossed a painted McDonald's Furby from offscreen.

Grumby[]

A funny novel by Andy Kessler. A story about a band of coder/hackers load state-of-the-art artificial intelligence, including working eyes, ears, GPS, spy software, and a wise-ass personality into a bunch of old Furbys, re-christened Grumbys, network them together, change the world, sell millions, go public, become rich and famous and make allies/enemies of Google, Steve Jobs, Congress, Goldman Sachs, the CIA, Microsoft and the founder of Facebook[5].

Is it Cake?[]

In season two (Dubbed “Is it Cake Too?”), there is an 90’s themed episode where the cast members replicate things in cake form. One of the choices shown in the beginning part is a Furby, it was picked by no one.

Baby Alive[]

In the fourth season, there's an entre episode dedicated to Furby where the main cast would interact with It.

Friends[]

In the Friends TV series season 5 episode 12, titled "The One with Chandler's Work Laugh", there are two Furbys present on one of the two microwaves in the background. The character Chandler is by the microwave talking to Joey, and the Furbys are next to him. When the camera flips to Joey there is a Mrs Potato Head box and a Tom Corbett's Space Cadet lunchbox in the background.

Scarlett's Strike Force[]

In Hasbro's action comic Scarlett's Strike Force issue 2 page 21, a T-Rex expulses one of the characters as well as other objects including three Furby toys.

My Little Pony: The Manga - A Day in the Life of Equestria Vol. 3[]

On page 8 of the manga, Fluttershy is shown announcing a scavenger hunt she planned for some animals. However, Discord reveals all the hidden items before they could begin the hunt, one of which is a Furby.

Ted 2[]

In the Hasbro HQ scenes, two Boom models can be seen on the displays in the background.

SuperStore[]

While Mateo was trying to set Amy up with his cousin two Furby Connects can be seen on the shelves behind them.

Promotional[]

Bin Weevils[]

Bin Weevils is a kids MMO that was launched in 2004. In the game, a Furby Boom cavern tent appeared in the area Gong's Pipenest. Once the tent is entered, it will give a prompt asking if you would like an exclusive Bin Weevils Furbling for the Furby Boom game.

Limited time free Furby Party Rockers items were released for the in-game player nests. This item set consisted of Party Rocker Wallpaper and Floor, and a Furby Boom Bed and Glow Lamp. There were also Furby competitions and games added to the game's Slam’s Party Box for a limited time (image needed).[6]
