Gowy is the name given to a French Furby knockoff based off the original Furby. [1] It was from the same creators of Foobie, despite there being no evidence.
Appearance[]
Gowy has eyes similar to those of a Foobie, long brown pointy fox ears with lighter brown inner ears, two soft arms, and two legs with paws. The knockoff seems to resemble a bear or a coyote. It has a short, stubby tail, which is the same color as the main fur. Gowy has a bear-like mouth with a black nose (which seems to be a ball of fluff) and a light brown inner mouth.
Trivia[]
- Gowy comes in at least 6 variations, including "Wild Cat" and brown.[2]
- The appearance of Gowy's manual remains unknown.
- Teleshop had been distributing the knockoff in France, while Import Export Services was a vendor of the knockoff.[3]
- Gowy was one of the Furby fakes which Tiger Electronics and Hasbro have taken legal action against.[4]
- Some versions of Gowy have the same beak as some versions of Foobie. This originally led to the confusion that the brown Gowies with beaks were actually 'French Foobies'.
