Interactive Pikachu was an unreleased Pokémon toy that was described as a toy that "utilizes and extends the Furby technology".[2]

About[]

The toy was mentioned in the "News" sections on the official Furby website. Interactive Pikachu and Interactive Meowth appeared at the International Toy Fair in 2000 and are said to "display the personalities and characteristics Poke-collectors know and love".[3] According to an article by Kidscreen, the toys were likely larger than a Furby and would likely have had a higher suggested retail price due to "new features".[4]

Features[]

A page in a toy fair catalogue by Tiger Electronics from 2000 provides more information about the toy. Pikachu moves his tail, ears, and mouth and his cheeks glow. It claims the toy has a vocabulary of more than 150 words and sounds. He can communicate with other Interactive Pokémon or another Interactive Pikachu. According to the official Furby website, the toy could interact with a Furby as well.[5] The catalogue states that Pikachu can learn skills and be trained for battling against other Interactive Pokémon. It also claims that Pikachu can learn his owner's voice and obey their commands, and that Pikachu evolves overtime from interaction with his owner and from using voice recognition. Kidscreen's article and the toy catalogue claim Interactive Pikachu will challenge Interactive Meowth if they are placed near each other.
