Palm Sized Furbys (てのひらファービー) are one of many items licensed by Tomy and sold exclusively in Japan in 1999.

About[]

These are palm sized 1998 Furbys, using Generation 1 Furbys, such as Leopard, Skunk and Church Mouse. They are only known to say up to 7 phrases, although their packaging claims they can say up to 10. It’s possible that like the original Furbys, they unlock more phrases with extended play, but this has not been confirmed.
Palm-sized Furbys require two E90 / LR1 / Size N 1.5v batteries.

Features[]

They have two metal sensors on the bottom that activate when in contact with skin (your palm), and take two N batteries. According to the box and a gif from TOMY's website of a prototype Palm Sized Furby, the toy speaks up to 10 words. [1][2] [3][4] No parts move automatically, but each eyelid moves when the ear closest to it is pushed down. Pushing down the Furby's right ear causes the right eyelid to close, pushing down the left ear causes the left eyelid to close, while pushing both ears down makes both eyelids close. These Furbys came in 3 different color variations including Skunk, Leopard, and Church Mouse.

Phrases[]

  • May-tay kah (kiss me) *laughs*
  • Kah ay-tay (Me hungry)
  • Kah may-may u-nye (Me love you)

Possible Additional Phrases (According to translations done on their boxes).

  • No way

Note: "Ok!" and "Whee!" are displayed separately on the packaging as two distinct phrases, making up the missing 10th phrase.
It’s also possible that "Aha" and "No way" are similarly included within other phrases, but this has not been confirmed.
