EL factory Furby’s are rare 1998 Furby’s that were obviously made but he factory “EL.”
Information that is known[]
- Not Many EL Furby’s were made, making them hard to find and rarer that regular Series 3 1998 Furby’s
- EL Furby’s seem to only be series 3 1998 Furby’s.
- Their Factory Code is “C0-31”
- They we’re only manufactured from July 1999 to October 1999
- They we’re mostly made on August 24th 1999
- Most of the ones I found on eBay have gray eyes, but they can come in the other eye colors as well, it just seems like gray is common for EL Furby’s
- All the ones I’ve found that have boxes have a white sticker that says “T1 2509 000 000.”
- All EL Furby’s have this little ring thingy around the IR sensor on their faceplate, which makes it stick out more than Furby’s made in other factory’s.
- EL Furby ear bones have little nubs . Other factories usually have an arrow on the tip of the ear bone, except for the JT ones, they have rounded ear bone tips. Later JT’s, and 2001 RL Furby’s, and some special edition Furby’s have hook style ear bones.
- EL Furby’s beaks appear to have a stronger grip than the other factories.
- The earliest EL Furby I found is a Lamb Furby that was made on July 23rd 1999.
- The latest EL Furby I found is a Frog Furby that was made on October 7th 1999.
- EL Furby’s usually have a “Furby Original” tag on their side, but sometimes, they don’t have this. It likely means they are an Earlier EL Furby. The only ones I have seen without this tag are 2 new in box EL Gorilla Furby’s and one EL Snow Leopard Furby.
- The EL Pink Flamingo appears to be the rarest EL Furby. There is only 1 picture I could find of a Pink Flamingo Furby with the EL Factory code.
- Very rarely can an EL Furby get the RL glitch. [1]My EL Frog Furby “A-Loh” unfortunately had this glitch, and it ended up killing his old board. I did revive him though with a donor board.
The bottom of the Green eyed Gorilla Furby’s box, displayed the EL factory code and manufacturing date of August 22nd 1999
Theory about what happened to the EL parts after they stopped making Furby’s[]
- Generation 4-2001 Rerelease, and some special edition RL Furby’s (Like the Valentines, and some Autumn Furbys) have parts that closely resemble the EL Furby parts. They have the ring thingy around the IR sensor, and the same battery pack as an EL, just with RL on it. I came up with a theory for this. I think that what happened was that when the EL factory stopped making Furby’s, the remaining parts somehow ended up at the RL factory, and got used on Generation 4-2001 rerelease and some special edition Furby’s. The battery pack had EL removed and replaced with RL, and had black RL tilt sensors inserted. This also happens with Pink Flamingo Furby’s so it could explain why the EL Pink Flamingo is so rare.
